June 25th - takeoff to June 26th - landing...
We landed on Saturday, June 26th @ 5:20 pm after 13.5 hours (we left @ 2 pm on Friday from JFK). We made it!
The flight, oh the flight!! It was looooong....! After 8 hours, even Mom was saying "are we there yet?" ... Korean Air was amazing. we each had our own tv screens and reclining seats (nearly flat w/a lot of variation in between). Really - the best i have flown to date and oh so helpful w/the little ones. Water, cookies, mini hagen daas ice cream ... in between healthy, delicious meals ... we couldn't have asked for anything more...the stewards and stewardess were ever smiling and gracious. A sign of what was to come in Korea.
Many movies (kids) and pages (me) later - we managed to get some sleep - michael (5 hrs), Eliz (4) Stephanie (3,5), Mom (3). There were many seat changes among the 4 of us... we had two seats in near the window and then 2 seats in the middle section ... so the girls were able to move about the cabin enough to keep them happy and contained (a few momentary upsets ... not all smooth sailing. :) ).
We were greeted by our friend, Bob Lee, who is working for LG in Seoul. They are great friends from Chatham. We were taken by car back to to their 24th floor apartment. It will be great to see where they landed!!! more to come on our korean adventures....
